A two part epic from the early 1989. Siel DK70 provides the background sequences driving the Yamaha DD-10 drum machine vi midi! They were our two first machines with midi capability, so this is one of the earliest midi synced tracks by nemesis. The set up was elaborated by syncing the envelope of the Yamaha CS-15 from the phone out jack of the Yamaha drum unit. That way we got the pulse for the bassline. The notes had to be played by hand, of course.
But it resulted in a lively and varied backing track. We recorded those on the tracks 1-2 into our Fostex X-15 live and then we had another stereo pair for Arp Omni, Micromoog, CS-15 and especially Jyrki´s Siel DK70, which provides here the polyphonic chords. Arp Omni 2 sounds like it was driven thru a fuzz pedal. Our material in these days was basically two live takes in stereo; firstly the rhythms, then the overdubs. Usually in a one take, with minimal inserts.
