This one is an example of the more ambient, improvised jams we still did now and then. There´s a clear structure to this one and it builds up nicely to the end. Probably worthy of official release on some of the albums at the time, but somehow it fell by the wayside. Most likely just forgotten for some strange reason.
Jyrki does some very nice sequencing with Roland MC202 and Korg M1 here… Ami uses his Akai Sampler here for musical elements instead of rhythm sounds and Joni had moved from his Kurzweil to an Access Virus C by this time. Some of the sounds are clearly going thru Jyrki´s main effect unit, Ensoniq DP-4, which is one of the true mainstays of Nemesis sound, and still is…
Clearly an inspired evening at the studio as this sounds like it is totally live, the recording made straight to 2-track DAT without any overdubs.
honestly this album takes quite a bit of time and many listening rounds to actually "get into". No doubt it is technically excellent, with more advanced composition elements than earlier records, however it isn't that easily accessible either. Perhaps this is actually a strength as each time you will listen to there will be more details to discover. Martin R
