A slow ambient track from 2000. Joni (who was now a permanent addition to the line up, from the autumn of the year 2000 onwards) had a great sampler, Kurzweil 2500R, and he was much into sampling and soundscapes. It gave us a great boost in the more textural work and there´s literally hours of material like this in nemesis archives.
As a counterweight for the hard work at creating multitracked compositions full of overdubs, we did a lot of very loose improvisations that were in the can as soon as they had been played. We loved this kind of instant composing without any pre-set ideas and some of the early stuff really clicked. Some of the best ambient material of the albums “Music for Earports” (2001) and “Xtempora” (2005) was created like this.
